Jones served in many capacities at Bloomsburg as both a player and a coach. He was an assistant football coach for the Huskies from 1926 to 1929 in charge of the offensive line while also playing fullback. From 1926 to 1930, he was the school's junior varsity basketball and track and field coach. He helped introduce wrestling to Bloomsburg in the 1928-29 season. After graduation, Jones coached both basketball and track and field at the high school level and was a PIAA official for over 20 years.
