Bloomsburg Athletics

VanDevender was a three-sport performer at Bloomsburg. As a member of the track team, he ran sprints and helped the team go undefeated in all regular-season dual meets. As a team, the Huskies captured the Pennsylvania State Teacher's College Conference title three consecutive years. An eight-time conference champion, the "Flying Van" set records in the 100-yard dash and low hurdles. Overall, he scored 280 points in the conference championships during his four season. VanDevender was also part of the Bloomsburg contingent at the Penn Relays for four seasons and helped the Huskies to some outstanding showings.
