Michael Lelko was one of the most decorated wide receivers to wear the Maroon & Gold for the Bloomsburg football team playing from 1997-2000. He was captain of the 2000 team that reached the NCAA championship game finishing with a record of 12-3.
Following his senior season in 2000, Lelko was named a Second Team Football Gazette All-American and a Third Team AP All-American, earning All-ECAC Southern Region, First Team Daktronics All-Region, and First Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honors. He was also a First Team All-PSAC East honoree in 1998 and a second team honoree in 1999. Lelko was named BU's Robert B. Redman Senior Male Athlete of the Year for 2000-01.
Lelko is the school's all-time leader in career receptions (262), receiving yards (3,574), and touchdown receptions (43). As a senior, he caught 94 passes, second most in a single season, for 1,375 yards and 21 touchdowns, a single-season record at BU. In the NCAA national championship game, he caught seven passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
During his four years with BU, the Huskies went 32-15 and were PSAC East champions twice.
Lelko currently ranks second on the PSAC's all-time list in receptions and seventh on the conference's all-time list in receiving yards and touchdown receptions.
