Kyle OFier led the Huskies to a 3-1 opening weekend against PSAC East rival Shepherd by hitting .636 in the four games. OFier went 7-for-11 against the Rams and also walked three times as he reached base in 10 of his 14 plate appearances (.714 OBP). Of his seven hits, OFier had a double and a home run for a slugging percentage of 1.000. In the season opener at Shepherd on Friday, OFier's three-run homer in the top of the fourth erased a 4-3 deficit and gave the Huskies the lead for good as they went on to win by a 6-4 final. It was his 19th career home run which ties him for seventh on the school's all-time home run list. He had at least one hit in all four games including a 3-for-4 performance in Bloomsburg's 10-9 win in game one on Saturday.
