BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Initiated by the Bloomsburg University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and, in conjunction with the office of Alumni and Professional Engagement, the Bloomsburg University Athletic Department is excited to announce the development of the Bloomsburg Athlete – Alumni Network.

The goal of the Bloomsburg Athlete – Alumni Network is to create opportunities for alumni to engage with current student-athletes and develop a system of support among current and former Husky student-athletes.  As an Alumni volunteer, you can have a lasting impact on Bloomsburg's soon-to-be-professionals.

How do I get involved?  There are three opportunities for engagement:

     1.    Complete the BU Alumni Association's volunteer interest form to update your contact information and let us know what topics would be of interest to you.

     2.    Join our Bloomsburg Athlete – Alumni Network Group on LinkedIn.

     3.    Sign-up to be a panelist and speak to current student-athletes about your transition from college athlete to professional, strategies for achieving success, and leadership development.  The dates for these spring panel discussions will be February 5, 2019, and March 7, 2019, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The sessions will be conducted either virtually (Zoom) or face-to-face, if you are available to come to campus.  Contact Courtney Noll, Student-Athlete Advocate and Assistant Field Hockey Coach, via e-mail at cnoll@bloomu.edu to express your interest in any of these dates.

The commitment when joining the Bloomsburg Athlete – Alumni Network is simple: Have a willingness to advise and correspond with current Bloomsburg University student-athletes. Elements of these connections can include, but are not limited to: sharing your post-graduation experiences, how being a student-athlete helped you in the application/interview process, how to tailor resumes or cover letters to emphasize strengths gained from being a college student-athlete, or how to list volunteer/leadership experience on a resume or cover-letter.

On behalf of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, we look forward to working with our Husky Alumni in developing these exciting opportunities.

Stay up to date with the Huskies all season long by following us on our official social media accounts: Twitter (@GoBUHuskies), Facebook (BUHuskies), and Instagram (BUHuskies).
