Redshirt senior Austin Edgette hit safely in all six games during the week to extend his hitting streak to 16 consecutive games as he helped the Huskies to a 4-2 week. For the week, Edgette batted .591 (13-for-22) with five runs scored, two doubles, and seven runs batted in. He was also a perfect 7-of-7 in stolen bases over the six games - he entered the season with a team-high eight stolen bases in his first 24 games. He led the Huskies with a .654 on-base percentage and was second on the team with a .682 slugging percentage. In the two-game sweep of Slippery Rock on Wednesday, Edgette went 4-for-7 with three runs scored and four stolen bases. He reached base all five times in game one against The Rock (3-for-3, 2 BB) and swiped three bags. Edgette then went 4-for-8 (2-for-4 each game) with two stolen bases on Friday at Lock Haven and then helped the Huskies to a doubleheader sweep at home against Lock Haven when he went 5-for-7 with two doubles and four RBI.
Edgette now leads the PSAC in hitting with a .495 average (52-for-105) with 38 runs scored, five home runs, and 28 RBI. He is also 15-of-16 in stolen bases which ranks him tied for second in the league. Edgette is batting .564 (31-for-55) during his 16-game hitting streak and has now hit safely in 29 of his 30 games played this season.
