Sophomore Bernardo Abreu had a perfect weekend as the men's tennis team opened the 2018-19 season by hosting the Bloomsburg University Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. On day one, Abreu, playing at #3 singles, posted a straight-sets victory over Ithaca College's Sam Fried - 7-6 (5), 6-1 - and then teamed up with sophomore Lucas Pedrotti for an 8-6 win over Wilkes University's Courtney Murphy and Jonathan White at #1 doubles. On Sunday, Abreu again teamed with Pedrotti for an 8-3 win at #1 doubles over Ithaca's top duo of Michael Gardiner and Minos Stavrakas and then won in straight sets - 6-2, 6-3 - over Wilkes' Chris Maderitz at #3 singles to conclude the weekend.
