Stu Marvin will enter his ninth season as the head coach of the men's and women's swim teams at Bloomsburg University in 2016-17.

Under Marvin's guidance, the Bloomsburg women's swimming team has finished second at the conference championships in back-to-back seasons in 2015 and 2016, marking the first back-to-back runner-up finish since 1991 and 1992. For his efforts, Marvin was named PSAC Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year after the 2014-15 season.
 
The Huskies have broken 15 of the school’s 19 records, leaving just four on the board that were established before Marvin took over.  His swimmers have had 57 record-breaking performances and own 135 times on the All Time Top Ten list.  They have won four individual and five relay titles at the PSAC Championships, including a championship meet record in the 200 medley relay this past season. Five swimmers have been named NCAA All American and Rachel Brooker was named Academic All American in 2015. Brooker (2015) and Alex Wheatley (2016) were Bloomsburg University Outstanding Female Senior Athletes of the Year, while Brooker (2014), and Caroline Hodgins (2015) were named Bloomsburg University Outstanding Female Underclass Athletes of the Year.

During the 2015-16 season the Huskies posted a dual meet record of 8-2, dropping just the first meet of the year to 14-time PSAC champion West Chester and Division I Lehigh University.  For the year, the team set eight school records - several of them multiple times throughout the season.  Bloomsburg was also ranked has high as #9 nationally during the season.
 
At the 2015-16 PSAC Championships, the Huskies' Alex Wheatley was a three-time champion, winning the 100 backstroke and was the lead off swimmer in the winning 200 and 400 medley relays. The women rolled up a team record 626 points, 49 more than the previous record high of 577 at the 2015 meet. Eleven women were named All PSAC and the team grabbed 31 All PSAC awards. Nikki Young went on the represent Bloomsburg at the NCAA championships in Indianapolis, competing the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She broke the team record in both events, finishing tenth in the 100 breast and earning All-American honors.

During the 2014-15 season, the Huskies posted a dual meet record of 8-1 - the team's best mark since the 1992-93 season. The team also set 14 school records, including junior Caroline Hodgins taking two of the team's oldest marks, the 200 free and 1000 free, that had been on the books since 1986. They posted 46 new all-time Top Ten times and the team was ranked nationally, earning a #13 ranking from College Swimming.com during the year.
 
At the 2014-15 PSAC Women's Championships, the Huskies' Rachel Brooker was a four-time PSAC champion, winning the 200 fly title and as a member of the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 400 free relay. Alex Wheatley, Nikki Young, and Meg Gallagher were two-time relay champions, with Ashley Dix and Caroline Hodgins winning one.
 
Two swimmers, Brooker and Hodgins, went on to swim at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis. Brooker earned two All-American awards in the 100 and 200 fly, and also competed in the 200 IM and 100 free. Hodgins earned All-American honors in the 500 and 1000 free, while also competing in the 200 and 1650 freestyle.

During the 2013-2014 season, the women finished fourth at the conference meet with Rachel Brooker winning the PSAC title in 100 fly. Brooker and teammate Brooke Gilson then went on to swim at the NCAA championships in Geneva, Ohio. Gilson swam the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle, claiming All-American honors in the 1650. Brooker claimed All-American honors the 100 and 200 fly, while also competing in the 200 IM and the 100 free.
 
In the 2011-2012 season, Bridget Hilferty represented the Huskies at the NCAA Championships in Mansfield, Texas. She competed in the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle, earning All-American honors in the 1000 and 1650.

Marvin arrived in Bloomsburg after spending 30 years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he oversaw the operation of the aquatic complex at the International Swimming Hall of Fame. He was involved in coaching with the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team and Fort Lauderdale Aquatics. Marvin was also an administrator for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) during their annual Swim Forum.
 
A 1978 graduate of Bloomsburg, Marvin was an 11-time All-American performer for the Huskies, winning five PSAC titles, and setting six conference records. He was a two-time winner of the school's Underclassman Athlete of the Year award and received the Robert B. Redman Award as the school's top male senior athlete in 1978. He was the first swimmer inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. The YMCA of the USA named him the recipient of the 2002 Joseph G. Rogers Award for outstanding service to their National Competitive Swimming & Diving Committee. In 2011, Marvin was inducted into the Broward County (FL) Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to aquatics in South Florida. Marvin is a two-time FINA Masters World Champion and world record holder, and a 28-time US Masters National Champion. He is a certified member of the American Swimming Coaches Association, as well as member of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

Marvin and his wife Meg are the parents of two boys, Robert and Matthew, and reside in Bloomsburg.
