Steph Pettit Stadium
Steph Pettit Stadium was named in honor of Steph Pettit (Bloomsburg University Class of 1989) who donated $1 million dollars in 2014 for scholarships and facility renovations. Improvements to the stadium (formerly known as Sports Stadium) made during the 2014-15 academic year include new field turf, wind screens and a new scoreboard. Originally constructed in 2006 at a cost of $1.5 million dollars, the facility has seating for more than 700 fans and features a press box and a sound system and is home to the Huskies field hockey, men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. In addition, local high school teams and Bloomsburg club teams also utilize the field.
The facility was formally dedicated on April 18, 2015. The stadium will have a national showcase as well with Bloomsburg University being selected as the host for the 2015 NCAA Division II Field Hockey National Championship Final Four and the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship Final Four.
Steph Pettit Field will received an upgrade for the fall of 2024 season. The six old light trees were replaced during the fall of 2024 with six new LED light trees. The new lights will enhance the brightness over the entire playing surface and all corners of the stadium, removing any dark spots from the previous light trees. The lights also provide a cost-saving initiative for the department with energy efficient LED bulbs.
