Bloomsburg Downs Kutztown in Field Hockey

BLOOMSBURG--Breanne Tobin (Perkasie, Pennridge) scored twice to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 5-2 win over Kutztown University Saturday night. The win avenges the Huskies only loss of the year.

Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl, Pen Argyl) got the Huskies on the board first with a goal just 4:17 into the game when she connected on a penalty stroke. Kutztown rallied with back to back goals over a five minute stretch to grab a 2-1 lead.

The Huskies, though, needed just 45 seconds to tie the game at 2-2 when Tobin scored her first goal of the game at the 23:11 mark, then took the lead for good less than two minutes later when Aime Sgarlat (Dallas, Lake Lehman) scored.

The score stayed 3-2 in favor of the Huskies till the 62nd minute when Tobin scored her second goal with Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) getting the assist. Riley closed out the scoring in the game scoring with 35 seconds to play to make the final 5-2.

Bloomsburg goes to 11-1, 5-1 in the PSAC East, while Kutztown falls to 7-5, 2-3 in the PSAC East.
