BLOOMSBURG- Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) scored one goal and had one assist to lead the number two-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 4-0 win over Slippery Rock on Monday afternoon.
The Huskies got on the board first when Alexis Weber (Bear, DE, William Penn) scored off a crossing pass from Riley 12:59 into the contest. Bloomsburg made it 2-0 in the 25th minute of play when Kara Stahl (Mifflinburg, Mifflinburg) passed to Sandy Anceravage (Bloomsburg, Bloomsburg) in the circle and Anceravage drilled it home.
In the second half, Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl, Pen Argyl) scored on a penalty corner with Aime Sgarlat (Dallas, Lake Lehman) getting the assist. Bloomsburg closed out the scoring when Riley got her 14th goal of the season on an assist from Amanda Deloy (Milton, DE, Cape Henlopen) with 12:45 left to play in the game.
The Bloomsburg midfield and defender play was outstanding in the game controlling the action most of the game and not allowing the Rock (2-10) a shot on goal.
Bloomsburg goes to 12-1 on the year and will host CW Post on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
