Huskies Five-Game Winning Streak Snapped

Huskies fall 70-57 to Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday

WILMINGTON, DE-The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped with a 70-57 loss to Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday night.

The Huskies led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but saw the home team battle back and cut the lead to just five at the break, 34-29. In the second half the Huskies and Lightning saw the lead change hands five times, but down the stretch Goldey-Beacom pulled away to get the win.

Bloomsburg struggled with its shooting the entire game and hit on just 31 percent of its shots from the floor, including just 24 percent (7-29) from three-point range.

Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) led the Huskies with a career-high 28 points, while Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland, Hazleton Area)and Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland, Tri-Valley) both added five points.

Jacinda Jones scored 29 to lead Goldey-Beacom (3-7), while Janae Weldon chipped with with 14.

Bloomsburg, now 6-2, will host Lock Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
