BROOKEVILLE, NY—
Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top, Crestwood)scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 3-1 win over CW Post on Sunday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup.
After a scoreless first half the Huskies struck first just 2:07 into the second half off a corner play with DiSabatino scoring unassisted. The score stayed 1-0 until the 55 minute mark when DiSabatino beat the CW Post on a hard drive in front of the cage to make it 2-0 in favor of the Huskies.
Less than four minutes later CW Post cut the lead in half with a goal. However the Huskies were able to get an insurance goal in the 61st minute when
Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) scored unassisted.
Bloomsburg goalie
Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood) stopped nine shots in the win to earn the victory.
The Huskies improve to 8-2, 3-1 in the PSAC East, while CW Post falls to 8-5,1-3 in the PSAC East. The Huskies play at IUP on Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
