BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University field hockey team dropped its second game of the season to No. 3 East Stroudsburg by a score of 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors struck first eight minutes into play, when Brittany Kocis found the back of the net off a pass from Amanda McGuire. At the 23:47 mark, Kayla Cilenti added to the Warriors score after taking a pass from Kocis off a penalty corner.
The Huskies, ranked fourth in the country, got on the board with less than six minutes in the first half when senior
Amanda Deloy (Milton, DE, Cape Henlopen) scored an unassisted goal.
With 14 minutes into the second half, junior
Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East)tied up the game, 2-2, after being fed from teammate, junior
Betsy Renn (Herndon, Line Mountain). It would be Riley's fifth goal of the season.
The Warriors made their mark in the 56
th minute, when Kocis found Alyson Becker on the right side of the goal that made its way past Huskies' keeper, sophomore
Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood).
The Huskies controlled the ball the remainder of the game, with four penalty corners, but the Huskies could not convert for the win.
Bloomsburg (5-2) travels to PSAC East Kutztown on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 pm. Undefeated East Stroudsburg (9-0) will visit Limestone at Millersville on Sunday, Oct. 3.
