McGinley's Hat Trick Pushes Huskies Past IUP, 5-1

Box Score

INDIANA, PA – Lauren McGinley's (Wilkes-Barre, Coughlin) hat trick helped the #4 Bloomsburg University field hockey team defeat Indiana (Pa.) by a final score of 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Just 1:49 into the first half, McGinley was able to fire a shot past IUP goalkeeper Lydia Dolly to put the Huskies up 1-0 early.

McGinley wasted no time notching her second goal of the game, this time finding the back of the net off the feed from Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) to make it 2-0 Bloomsburg at 4:44.

IUP's Anouk Sickman cut into the Huskies' lead, making it 2-1 Bloomsburg, as she put the ball past BU goalkeeper Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood) at the 14:38 mark.

The Huskies would go on to score three unanswered goals to put the game out of reach for the Crimson Hawks.

Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top, Crestwood) posted her fourth goal of the season just before the break at the 30:56 mark to give the Huskies a 3-1 advantage.

At the 31:34 mark, McGinley gave Bloomsburg the commanding 4-1 halftime lead when she scored her third goal of the game, giving her eight on the season.

Late in the second half, Amanda Deloy (Milton, DE, Cape Henlopen) got in on the scoring barrage, carding her second goal of the season and icing the victory for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg held a 22-10 shots advantage over IUP (6-6, 2-3 PSAC West).

Hollenbach played the first half in goal, making four saves. Backup goalkeeper Megan Eppley (Camp Hill, Camp Hill) played the second half in goal.

On the other side, Dolly made 14 saves for the Crimson Hawks.

Bloomsburg (9-2, 3-1 PSAC East) are back in action tomorrow at Seton Hill for a 1 p.m. start.
