CENTER VALLEY—The Bloomsburg University men's cross country team finished eight on Saturday at the DeSales University Invitational.
The Huskies finished with 188 points to 92 for Kutztown which won the meet.
Leading the way for the Huskies was
Bobby Furman (Broomall, Maple Newtown) in fourth place in a time of 26:47 for the 8,000 meter course. Finishing 19th was
David Moyer (Boyertown, Boyertown) in a time of 27:50, while
Brent Balmer (Lebanon, Cedar Crest) was 43rd in 28:22 with
Nick Patton (Canton, Canton) 48th in 28:31. Finishing fifth for the team was
Mike Hookham (Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex) in 81st in 29:08.
Auston Martzell (Myerstown, ELCO)was 90th out of 277 runners with a time of 29:27.
“We were a little flat after not racing the past two weeks,” said coach
Bernie Empie. “I was happy with the effort we put forth today and I am confident in the coming weeks our team will benefit from the hard work they are doing.”
The Huskies will be at the Lafayette Leopard Invitational on Saturday.
