Field Hockey Team Dominates in Regular Season Finale, 4-0

The Bloomsburg University field hockey team scored four goals to end their regular season with a win over C.W. Post, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Sports Stadium.

At 24:02, junior Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) scored on a reverse chip to the top of the box to make the score 1-0.

SophomoreNicole Bruce (Dalton, Lackawanna Trail) put the Huskies up 2-0, after scoring off a pass from senior Brieann Wolfe (Perkasie, Pennridge).

At the 33:09 mark, Bruce passed the ball along the goal crease and it was then knocked in by freshman Brittany Mathews (Reedsville, Indian Valley) to put the Huskies up 3-0.

The Huskies iced the game in the second half after Wolfe knocked in a high chip to the cage, after being fed from Riley.

The Huskies offense was on top with 23 shots on the day. Hollenbach had four saves between the pipes for Bloomsburg, while the Pioneer's Cortney Colern tallied 10 stops.

The Huskies (16-2) have clinched the top seed in the PSAC East for next weekend's playoffs. Bloomsburg will serve as the host for the playoffs on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20. Game times will be announced on Monday.
