Men's Cross Country Place 13th in NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional

BLOOMSBURG - David Moyer (Boyertown, Boyertown) was the top performer with a 47th_place finish as the Bloomsburg University men's cross country team concluded their season in the 13th overall at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional held at Cary, North Carolina on Saturday morning.

A total of 28 teams competed, as Bloomsburg totaled 374 points. Lock Haven placed first on the day and finished with 28 points. Lock Haven's Nathan Zondlo took home first place, finishing with a time of 31:30.

Meyer finished the race in a time of 34:02, while Bobby Furman (Broomall, Maple Newtown) was Bloomsburg's number two, finishing 66th overall at 34:44. Jared Arnold (Philadelphia, Engineering & Science) followed at number three, running the course in 34:55 and finishing 69th overall.

Nick Patton (Canton, Canton) crossed the finish line at 35:32, finishing the day in fourth for the Huskies and 92nd overall. Mike Hookham (Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex) finished in the top five for Bloomsburg, finishing in a time of 35:48, placing fifth for the Huskies and 100th overall.

Brent Balmer (Lebanon, Cedar Crest) rounded out the top six for the Huskies, finishing 121st overall with a time of 36:33.

"The men's team managed to outperform conference foes Mansfield and Kutztown," says head coach Bernie Empie.
