CALIFORNIA, PA – Bobby Furman (Broomall, Maple Newtown) paced the Huskies with a 29th-place finish as the Bloomsburg University men's cross country team finished 10th overall at the PSAC Championships held at the University of California (Pa.) on Saturday morning.

Fourteen teams competed, as Bloomsburg totaled 292 points. Shippensburg placed first on the day and finished with 24 points. Edinboro's Scott Anderson took home first place for the Fighting Scots, touching the finish line at 26:16.

Furman, who has run well in 2010, finished the race in a time of 27:41. Jared Arnold (Philadelphia, Engineering & Science) was Bloomsburg's number two, finishing 55th overall at 28:43. David Moyer (Boyertown, Boyertown) followed at number three, running the course in 29:03 and finishing 64th.

Nick Patton (Canton, Canton) crossed the finish line at 29:22, ending the day placing fourth for the Huskies and 71st overall. Brent Balmer (Lebanon, Cedar Crest) rounded out the top five for Bloomsburg, finishing in a time of 29:24, placing fifth for the Huskies and 73rd overall.

Mike Hookham (Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex) (29:50) and Auston Martzell (Myerstown, ELCO) (30:55) rounded out the top seven for the Huskies.

"The team managed to avenge an early season loss to Kutztown on October 9," says head coach Bernie Empie. "Hopefully the men can bounce back with a stronger outcome in two weeks at regionals."

Bloomsburg will now travel to Cary, N.C., for the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship hosted by Saint Augustine's College on November 20.
