Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to a 71-57 win over Georgian Court College Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies jumped out to a 27-17 halftime lead in the game despite hitting just 25 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.
Bloomsburg heated up in the second half shooting 37 percent from the floor,including 46 percent (6-13) from three-point range. The Huskies were also hot from the foul stripe hitting 18 of 22 in the final 20 minutes of action.
Gallagher finished with 22 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while
Dana Wieller (Bethlehem, Liberty) added 18 points and
Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland, Tri-Valley) 10 for Bloomsburg, now 7-1 on the year. Lauren Staats led Georgian Court, now 0-10, with a game-high 28 points.
The Huskies will be idle till Jan 3 when they face IUP at 5:30 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
