Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South)scored 21 points to lead the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to an 81-43 win over Cheyney University on Saturday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division game.
The Huskies started slowly in the game with the scored tied 3-3 through the first three and a half minutes of play. After a lineup change, Bloomsburg went on a 29-6 run to grab a 23-point lead with eight minutes to play in the half.
Leading the charge for the Huskies was Gallagher who scored seven points, while
Lauren Ellis (Bangor, Bangor) and
Dana Wieller (Bethlehem, Liberty) each scored six points.
Bloomsburg started the second half going on a 17-1 run to blow the game open and take a 33-point lead at 57-24.
Hannah Geedey (Lewistown, Lewistown) hit two three-pointers for the Huskies in the scoring burst. Defensively Bloomsburg was outstanding not allowing the Wolves a field goal for the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Bloomsburg, 11-5, 3-1 in the PSAC East, got 21 points from Gallagher, while Wieller chipped in with 10 points. In all every player on the Huskies roster scored at least one point. Cheyney, 4-12,0-4 in the PSAC East, was led by Christalee Lynch with 15 points.
The Huskies play at Mansfield on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
