BROOKVILLE, NY—The Bloomsburg University field hockey team remained unbeaten after posting a 2-0 win over C.W. Post on Wednesday in PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) action.
After a scoreless first half which saw the Huskies hold a 5-1 advantage in shots, Bloomsburg broke through in the 52nd minute when
Nicole Bruce (Dalton/Lackawanna Trail) tipped in a pass from the top of the circle from
Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood/Oley Valley).
The game stayed 1-0 until 3:25 left to play when
Lindsay Danz (Rehoboth Beach, DE/Sussex Technical) dribbled into the circle and beat the Pioneers goalie for a 2-0 advantage.
In the final minutes the Huskies preserved the shutout when goalie Megan Hollenbach stopped two shots and Bloomsburg broke up two penalty corners for C.W. Post.
Bloomsburg, ranked number one in Division II, is now 11-0, 4-0 in the PSAC East. C.W. Post falls to 7-4, 2-3 in the PSAC East.
The Huskies have a showdown with West Chester on Saturday at noon at Sports Stadium.
