Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The fourth-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team defeated ninth-ranked LIU Post 5-0 Friday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Hickox Field.

With the win, Bloomsburg (14-4 overall, 8-2 PSAC East) moves onto the PSAC playoffs next week as the No. 2 seed in the East.  It will host No. 3 Millersville in a first round game on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Sports Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.

Tickets to the PSAC Tournament are $7 for adults and $2 for students. Students from PSAC member institutions with valid school ID are admitted free.  PSAC passes will be honored as well.  There will be no complimentary tickets available.

Senior Brooke Simonovich (East Stroudsburg/Stroudsburg) had her third multi-goal game of the season against the Pioneers (7-10, 3-7).  Sophomore Felicia Domenici (Kunkletown/Pleasant Valley) scored her first goal of the season Friday, as seniors Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top/Crestwood) and Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood/Oley Valley) also scored for the Huskies.

Junior goalkeeper Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) made five saves in her fourth shutout of the season.  In the last three games, Eppley has allowed just one goal in helping Bloomsburg finish its season on a strong, three-game winning streak.

The Huskies controlled the game from start to finish as it outshot the Pioneers, 17-8.  Along with the goal scorers for BU, senior Alexis Weber (Bear, DE/William Penn) was also active on offense with a game-high five shots.

DiSabatino put the Huskies on the board in the 16th minute with her 14th goal of the season.  In a scramble in front of the LIU Post net, the senior rushed in and fired a shot into the left corner of the net to get Bloomsburg the early lead.  DiSabatino has now scored in two straight games heading into the postseason.

Simonovich scored the first of her two goals nearly ten minutes later.  Off a long shot attempt from Aulenbach, Simonovich kept her eye on the ball and made a deflection in front of the net to find its way past Pioneer keeper Becca May.

The senior also scored with under four minutes to play in the game at the 66:10 mark.  Simonovich took a shot from 10 yards out for her team-leading 15th goal of the season.

Leading 2-0 at halftime, the Huskies pushed forward at the start of the second half to earn a penalty stroke attempt.  Aulenbach scored on the attempt in the 42nd minute for her 11th goal of the season and third off a penalty stroke.

Domenici notched her first goal of the season and second of her career Friday.  The Kunkletown native scored on a tip-in from the left post in the 64th minute.  Domenici has been a valuable asset to the Husky attack this season, playing in all 18 games, and will be counted on through the playoffs.

Bloomsburg enters its postseason contest with Millersville having split the season series.  Each team won a 1-0 overtime decision on the road as BU was victorious on Sept. 19, and the Marauders earning the extra-time win on Oct. 9.
