CHEYNEY—Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty) scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as the Bloomsburg University women's basketball ran away from Cheyney University, 86-30, Saturday afternoon in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division game.
 
Wieller was red-hot right from the start hitting four three-pointers in the first seven minutes of the game as the Huskies raced out to a 16-0 lead on the Wolves. Cheyney finally got on the board with 11:34 to go in the first half when Shanavia Thomas hit a jumper making it 16-2.
 
The Huskies though continued to take advantage of poor shooting by the Wolves, just 13.9 percent (5-36) in the opening half, and built their lead to 30 points on two occasions in the first 20 minutes.
 
In the second half the Huskies lead continued to grow as coach Bill Cleary went to his bench early and often. All 10 players for Bloomsburg scored in the game and all 10 players saw at least 12 minutes of playing time in the game.
 
The 30 points scored by Cheyney were the fewest allowed by Bloomsburg since beating Penn State Schuylkill 65-30 in the 2008-09 season, while the 56-point margin of victory was the biggest for Bloomsburg since beating Penn State Schuylkill 100-44 in the first game of the 2010-11 season.
 
Along with Wieller scoring 19 points, Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) added 13 points with Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) getting 12 and Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) 10.

Defensively the Huskies held Cheyney to just 18 percent shooting for the game (11-61) and forced 21 turnovers.
 
With the win Bloomsburg improved to 18-4, 12-4 in the PSAC East, while Cheyney fell to 0-20, 0-16 in the PSAC East.
 
Bloomsburg will host Shippensburg on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Nelson Field House starting at 5:30 p.m.
