BLOOMSBURG--Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to a comeback victory over the Shippensburg Red Raiders, 72-63, Wednesday evening in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division game.

Gallagher got things started early for the Huskies, scoring the team's first points 1:27 into the game with one of her four three-pointers on an assist by Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland/Tri-Valley). The Huskies struggled to keep pace with Shippensburg over the next 10 minutes, and the Raiders took a 33-22 lead with 6:23 to go in the first half.

With six minutes to play, Derr hit a layup that would start a 7-2 Bloomsburg run, capped by a made free throw by Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty), that pulled the Huskies to within six points at 35-29.

Derr hit a layup late in the half to cut the deficit to four before Shippensburg scored the final five points of the period to lead 39-33 at the break.

In the second half the Huskies found themselves down 45-33 after a three-pointer from Sarah Strybuc a minute into the period. The Huskies got hot though and used a 24-2 run over the next 10-minute stretch to get control of the game.

Gallagher started the rally with a three-pointer and closed out the run with run with a second three-pointer. In between Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland/Hazleton Area) scored five points, Wieller hit a three and a two-pointer and Oxenrider hit two buckets to power the Huskies from a 12-point deficit to a 10-point lead.

The Huskies later took their biggest lead of the night at 12 points when Gallagher drained a three-pointer with 7:13 to play making it 62-50.

From there Shippensburg could get no closer than six points the rest of the way as the Huskies ended with a nine point win.
Along with Gallagher's 18 points, Wieller finished with 16 points, while Derr added 10 points for Bloomsburg. Shippensburg got 21 points from Strybuc, while Danas Wert scored 13.

With the win, the Huskies improved to 19-4, 13-4 in the PSAC East, while Shippensburg fell to 11-10, 8-9 in the PSAC East.
