BROOKVILLE, NY--Kyle Fisher (Denver/Cocalico) caught six passes for a career-high 196 yards and three touchdowns to help the #11 ranked Bloomsburg Huskies rally for a 42-27 win over LIU Post on Saturday afternoon.

Fisher caught TD passes of three, 60 and 73 yards as Bloomsburg came back from a 27-21 deficit by outscoring the Pioneers 21-0 in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Tim Kelly (Camp Hill/Cedar Cliff) finished 10-for-18 for 240 yards with two interceptions and three TD's, while the ground game was led by Franklyn Quiteh (Tobyhanna/Pocono Mountain West) with 121 yards and Eddie Mateo (Bethlehem/Freedom) 118 yards and a score.

Defensively, Tony David (Allentown/Salisbury) had nine tackles and two sacks, both of which were career-high's.  Shaun Moore (Lansdale/North Penn) had eight tackles as Jarrett Pidgeon (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) pitched in seven.

“Credit to Post today,” said head coach Danny Hale. “They were very physical and we had to overcome their hard hits and some turnovers on our part.”

“Also, Tim  Kelly and Kyle  Fisher are both doing what they need to do, and that's making some big plays.”

Bloomsburg goes to 4-0, 2-0 in the PSAC East, on the year, while LIU Post is now 2-1, 1-1 in the PSAC East. The Huskies host Gannon on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Hale Field at Redman Stadium.

THE GAME
Post opened the game with a 12-play drive that ate up over four minutes of play, but ended at the Huskies 27-yard line when Pioneers quarterback Steven Laurino threw back-to-back incomplete passes.

Taking over on downs the Huskies then proceeded to march 73 yards in 11 plays for the first score of the game. That came on a three-yard pass from Kelly to Fisher. A big play on the drive was a 26-yard run by Quiteh on a third-and-two play that put the ball in Post territory for the first time on the day.

Later in the period, the Post defense picked off Kelly at the Huskies 32-yard line. It was the first interception of Kelly's young career. The Pioneers then moved 32 yards in nine plays with Laurino running from two yards out for the tying score as the first period ended.

The Huskies regained the lead on their next possession.  Mixing the run and the pass Bloomsburg moved the ball to the Post 31-yard line. Quiteh then broke off a 29-yard run, but fumbled at the two-yard line. The Huskies Ryan Dickerson (Harleysville/Souderton) though was there to recover the loose ball and take it the final two yards for the go-ahead score with 9:08 left in the half.

Post went three and out on its next possession with the Huskies taking over at their own 20. Facing a third-and-18, Kelly hit Fisher with a 73-yard pass completion that the senior took in for a touchdown making it 21-7 with 5:26 left in the period.

The Pioneers answered on their next possession getting a 47-yard touchdown pass from Laurino to Ray Derham making it a 21-14 lead for the Huskies at the half.

In the third period the Huskies appeared to be on their way to a two-touchdown lead before fumbling at the Post three-yard line with Post recovering. The Bloomsburg defense came up big and forced a punt. But on the punt the Huskies fumbled with Post recovering again.

Behind the running of Anthony Brunetti, the Pioneers needed just five plays to go 45 yards for the tying score at 21-21.

On the Huskies ensuing possession, Kelly was intercepted a second time deep in Bloomsburg territory.  Laurino then guided the Pioneers to the end zone hitting Brunetti with the go-ahead 21-yard touchdown pass making it 27-21 after the missed extra point late in the third period.

In the fourth, the Huskies again used the Kelly to Fisher connection to regain the lead. This time the play was good for 60 yards making it 28-27 in favor of the Huskies with 10:53 left in the game.

After forcing a Post punt on the next drive, the Huskies took over at the Pioneers 46-yard line. After a two yard gain from Mateo, the junior ran 42-yards and broke numerous arm-tackles for a score to make it 35-27.

Bloomsburg would later tack on one final score on a one-yard carry by Kelly to make the final 42-27.
