Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University field hockey team recorded its first shutout of the season with a victory over Seton Hill University by a score of 4-0 Saturday.
Reigning PSAC East Player of the Week
Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top/Crestwood) had another hot game for the Huskies. DiSabatino scored two goals in the win and put the first points on the board in the 8th minute with an unassisted goal.
Senior
Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood/Oley Valley) set up junior
Brittany Mathews (Reedsville/Indian Valley) for another Huskies goal with 22:46 on the clock. DiSabatino's second goal was off a penalty corner from
Brooke Simonovich (East Stroudsburg/Stroudsburg) where she lofted the ball right over SHU goalie's head in the 41st minute. DiSabatino now has seven goals on the season and an assist.
Aulenbach then scored the fourth and final goal for the Huskies off of another corner from
Cassie DiSabatino (Mountain Top/Crestwood) at 53:34.
In goal Junior
Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) played 55:22 and made two saves. In her first collegiate appearance, freshman
Emiley Maiorana (Greencastle/Greencastle-Antrim) played the final 14:38.
The Huskies outshot the Griffins 24-7 and had a 12-7 corner advantage scoring off two of those opportunities.
Bloomsburg, now 4-0 on the season, is home against West Chester Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Sports Stadium with a 4:00 p.m. start. The Huskies will be looking for a bit of revenge after falling to the Golden Rams in the NCAA semi-finals.
