BLOOMSBURG—Despite a career-high 25 points from
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) the Bloomsburg University women's basketball lost to Millersville, 80-74, in the PSAC Eastern Division opener for both teams, on Wednesday.

The game was close from the opening tip. The Huskies only first half lead came in the opening minute when Sadowski scored consecutive buckets putting Bloomsburg up 4-3. The Huskies did tie the game five times in the opening 13 minutes of play, the last coming on a jumper by Sadowski to knot the score at 24-24 with 7:39 left in the half. Meanwhile, Millersville could not pull away going up by just four points several times in the opening half, the last with 1:55 to go before half when Lexi Scrivano scored in the paint.

A Sadowski bucket to open the second half tied the score at 32-all before the Marauders went on a 15-5 run to open their biggest lead of the game at 10 points, 47-37, with 16:51 to play. Celeste Robinson hit two three-pointers for Millersville to put the visitors on top.

The Huskies chipped away at the lead using a 17-6 run over a nine-minute stretch to go up 54-53. Sadowski started the rally with layup and scored seven total points in the run before a jumper from
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) put Bloomsburg on top for the first time since the opening minute of the game.

Over the next five minutes the teams traded the lead four times and were tied six times, the last coming on two free throws from Sadowski that made it a 67-67 game with 2:35 to go.

The Huskies however went cold from the field going 0-3 from the floor, while Millersville went on an 11-4 run to go up 80-71. Bloomsburg did get a three-pointer from
Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) with under 10 seconds to play to close to within six points, but Millersville ran out the clock to get the win.

Along with Sadowski's 25 points, Noack finished with 20 points with Simmons finishing with nine points off the bench for Bloomsburg.
Maggie Borski (Philadelphia/Nazareth Academy) added seven assists in the game. Millersville, 3-1, 1-0 PSAC East, got 25 points from Robinson.

Bloomsburg, 2-1, 0-1 PSAC East, plays at Lock Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
