QUICK SIX
-Saturday's game will determine the PSAC East champion and Eastern Division representative in next weekend's PSAC Championship Game.
-
Franklyn Quiteh (Tobyhanna/Pocono Mountain West) needs one touchdown to break a tie with BU alum Jamar Brittingham for the most total TDs in PSAC history, entering Saturday with 85.
-Quiteh also needs three rushing TDs to surpass Brittingham's PSAC record of 83 and also enters Saturday just four points off Brittingham's PSAC points record of 516.
-Quiteh is 70 rushing yards away from becoming the third player in Division II history to reach 7,000 career rushing yards (Danny Woodhead, Xavier Omon).
-With 177 career PATs made,
Danny Fisher (Liverpool/Central Dauphin) is two off the PSAC record of 179 set by Alex Walsh of West Chester between 2005-08.
-Bloomsburg has not lost back-to-back games in two years (vs. LIU Post, at Kutztown 10/29-11/5/2011).
THE MATCHUP
The winner of Saturday's game will win the PSAC East and earn hosting duties of next Saturday's conference title matchup. Slippery Rock controls its own destiny to be the representative from the West, needing a victory at winless Seton Hill to capture a berth in the PSAC Championship Game.
Saturday's game features two of the top offenses in the PSAC – West Chester ranks second in the league in points per game at 41.7 while the Huskies are close behind in third at 40.3. The Rams and Huskies are similar in the way both find success on the ground – Bloomsburg leads the PSAC at 313.8 yards per game rushing while WCU is third at 233.9 – as well as how both squads are strong in stopping the run: Bloomsburg leads the conference in rushing defense at 81.2 yards per game allowed, just ahead of WCU's 94.2.
TICKET PRE-SALE, PARKING AND TAILGATING POLICY
A large crowd is expected and fans travelling to the game are encouraged to arrive early and expect delays.
Car-pooling is also very strongly encouraged. Parking in surrounding lots will open at 10 a.m. while ticket booths will open at 11:30 a.m. Fans are also strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets ahead of time by calling the
WCU Ticket Office at (610) 436-2266. Tickets purchased over the phone will be left at the Will Call Window. This should help alleviate long lines at the ticket windows on the day of the game.
Â
West Chester University students can purchase tickets for friends and family during the week at the SSI Window in Sykes Student Union Center, or by calling the WCU Ticket Office.
Â
Tickets are $10 reserved seating and $8 general admission. Senior Citizens are $5. Group rates are also available. Parking in stadium lots is $5. However, space is limited.
Tailgating is permitted in Lot Q South only. That is the lot south of Farrell Stadium. Alcohol is
NOT permitted in the tailgate area.

WCU BAG-CHECK POLICY
West Chester University has a bag-check policy in place at all its major events, including home football contests. The policy requires anyone with a bag to open the bag and allow it to be searched prior to entering the stadium or large event venue. Should the bag carrier not want their bag searched they will not be permitted to enter the stadium or venue with it. A clear bag would be acceptable as we can view contents
LAST YEAR'S MEETING
Bloomsburg started fast and was able to hold off West Chester on Nov. 3, 2012 at Redman Stadium, 24-23. The game stats reflected the close nature of the final score – Bloomsburg held a narrow edge in rushing yards, 256-225, while WCU led in total yards, 422-340. The Huskies were +2 in turnovers, however, as the Golden Rams lost two fumbles. Bloomsburg led 14-3 after a quarter thanks to rushing touchdowns from
Franklyn Quiteh (Tobyhanna/Pocono Mountain West) and
Dai'Shon Munger (Westampton, NJ/Holy Cross) and never trailed, despite a rally attempt from WCU. Quiteh had 121 yards rushing while Rondell White finished with 305 all-purpose yards and two scores for the Golden Rams.
SERIES HISTORY
The Huskies have won three straight games over rival West Chester, but are seeking back-to-back wins at WCU for only the second time ever. The first was in 1994 and 1996. Saturday's game marks the 71st meeting between schools dating back to 1925. West Chester leads the all-time series, 46-24 and is 28-6 vs. Bloomsburg at home.
PSAC TITLE GAME PICTURE
With a win over West Chester, the Huskies would force a tie atop the PSAC East standings and would win the tiebreaker to host the PSAC Championship Game next week. Should Shippensburg win over Cheyney on Saturday, there would be a three-way tie at the top with all teams at 6-1. In this event, all three would share a 1-1 record against each other, forcing the tiebreaker to move to record against teams in the division – the trio would then all be undefeated against the rest of the East. Shippensburg would then be eliminated via its record in mandated conference games due to its Week 2 loss at Slippery Rock. The tiebreaker scenario would then revert back to the Bloomsburg and West Chester head-to-head record. A West Chester win captures the East Division crown outright for the Golden Rams.
KEEPING THE QB'S JERSEY CLEAN
If the numbers are to be believed, Saturday's game will not be one for defensive players to practice sack dances. West Chester has allowed the fewest sacks of any team in the PSAC this year (five) while Bloomsburg has surrendered just 10 sacks on the season.
ELLIOTT SHINING IN RETURN ROLE
One bright spot from last Thursday's loss to Shippensburg was the special teams play of true freshman
Lawrence Elliott Jr. (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) Elliott flashed his big play ability on multiple returns, including an 86-yard kickoff return in the second half. That return was the longest for the Huskies in over five years – the last time Bloomsburg had a longer kick return came on Oct. 4, 2008 when Jesse Cooper returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown, the last time BU returned a kickoff for a score. In all, Elliott had five returns for 183 yards vs. Shippensburg. For the year Elliott is averaging 34.7 yards per kickoff return in 13 tries since taking a larger role in recent weeks. He also has a 17.2 yard average on six punt returns – including a 73-yard score vs. Millersville on Oct. 12. His 581 all-purpose yards rank third on the team.
RUNNING TO DAYLIGHT
Entering this week's game at West Chester, Bloomsburg has an on-going streak of 29 straight games with at least one rushing touchdown – the last time the Huskies failed to run for a score came on Sept. 15, 2011 at IUP.
NO RUSHERS TO 100
Bloomsburg has not allowed a 100-yard rusher this season. The most yards by a single player on the ground against the Huskies came from the 95 yards Edinboro quarterback Cody Harris rushed for in BU's Week 2 win. The last player to rush for more than 100 yards against Bloomsburg was Slippery Rock's Akeem Satterfield who did so on Nov. 10, 2012. The defense will attempt to keep the streak alive against WCU's Rondell White who has racked up over 100 yards rushing in seven of nine games this year.
HARRIS PICKS UP FIRST SACK
Redshirt freshman
Andrew Harris (Bethlehem/Whitehall) continued his impressive debut season by registering his first career sack vs. Shippensburg. The Bethlehem native is second on the team with 55 tackles including five tackles for loss.
AIRING IT OUT
The 32 pass attempts by
Tim Kelly (Camp Hill/Cedar Cliff) last week vs. Shippensburg were not only a career-high, but also the most for the Huskies since Pat Carey put up 37 pass attempts at Mercyhurst on Nov. 13, 2010.
PATRICK PICKS ANOTHER
Last week,
Jonathan Patrick (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) picked up his fourth interception of the season with a pick of Shippensburg quarterback Zach Zulli in the first quarter. The four interceptions are a career high for the senior safety and place him in a tie for third in the PSAC along with ESU's Dean Vitale. Only Edinboro's Delano Fabor and IUP's Eric Williams have more INT's, each tied for the conference lead with five.
