Bloomsburg (5-1, 2-1 PSAC East) at Shippensburg (5-1, 2-0 PSAC East)
Saturday, Dec. 7 - 1 p.m.
Shippensburg, PA - Heiges Field House

SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg has started its season off hot, winning four straight games entering Saturday. During the winning streak the Raiders have posted wins over NYIT (94-81), Lock Haven (87-75), Cheyney (76-68) and Bowie State (81-70). Shippensburg and Bloomsburg have two like opponents – while BU defeated both Lock Haven and Goldey-Beacom, Shippensburg suffered its only setback of the year at home to the Lightning (72-61) on Nov. 15. Shippensburg was the only team to have multiple players selected to the All-PSAC East squad (Stephanie Knauer, Sarah Strybuc) and returns six players from last year's 20-win team, the most for the program in 11 years.

Players to Watch
Stephanie Knauer, sophomore forward - Knauer averages a double-double (19.3 points, 10.2 rebounds) while playing over 33 minutes per game. Last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year, Knauer has scored 20 points or more five times this year including a season-high of 27 vs. Shepherd on Nov. 11. She was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week this past Monday.

Sarah Strybuc, senior guard  - Strybuc gives the Raiders a second strong scoring threat along with Knauer, averaging 16.5 points per game. She has been in double figures in five straight games with 18 or more points four times including a season-high of 20 vs. Goldey-Beacom on Nov. 15.

THE BLOOMSBURG-SHIPPENSBURG SERIES
Shippensburg leads, 29-22

The Raiders won the very first meeting, 58-54, in 1976 and Shippensburg once dominated the series, winning 12 out of the first 14 games between the schools. Things have changed in recent years, however, as the Huskies have scored six straight wins over their PSAC East rival – sweeping the season series the last two years. The last win for Shippensburg in the series came in a 69-66 decision at Nelson Field House on Jan. 19, 2011. Bloomsburg has also won three consecutive games at Heiges Field House.

WHEN LAST WE MET
Bloomsburg left Heiges Field House with a 66-58 win on Feb. 13, 2013. Both teams struggled from the field, with the Huskies shooting 37 percent (20-of-54) and the Raiders just 27 percent (15-55). Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) finished with 12 points for Bloomsburg while Sarah Strybuc netted 15 points for Shippensburg.

BEASTS OF THE EAST
When it travels to Shippensburg on Saturday, the Huskies will look to add to a remarkably impressive resume in recent seasons vs. divisional competition. Bloomsburg has compiled a 42-6 record vs. PSAC East teams since the beginning of the 2010-11 season.

DON'T TURN DOWN CHARITY
The Huskies have been able to take advantage of their opportunities at the foul line so far this year - Bloomsburg leads the PSAC in free throw percentage, hitting over 78 percent of their shots at the charity stripe. The Huskies are 93-for-118 as a team at the line.

OUTRUNNING THE COMPETITION
The Huskies hold the strongest scoring margin in the PSAC this season, standing +21.5 in scoring thus far.

CALL IT A STREAK
Bloomsburg enters Saturday with a season-best three-game winning streak, looking to stretch the streak to four. A season ago, the Huskies had four winning streaks of at least four games in length including winning 12 straight between Jan. 7 - March 2.
