Domenici Scores Three Times in Field Hockey Win

LOUISVILLE, KY—Felicia Domenici (Kunkletown/Pleasant Valley) scored three goals to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 4-0 win over Bellarmine University Saturday in Louisville, KY.
 
The Huskies wasted little time in grabbing the lead when Brittany Mathews (Reedsville/Indian Valley) scored just 5:22 into the contest slapping the ball in from the right side.  Bloomsburg made it 2-0 in the 28th minute when Domenici scored off an assist from Nikki Black (Huntington Mills/Northwest Area).
Overall in the opening 35 minutes the Huskies held a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
 
In the second half Bloomsburg made it 3-0 when Domenici took a pass from Samantha Facciolla (Holland/Council Rock South) in the 44th minute. The Huskies final goal came just about five minutes later when Domenici completed the hat trick with the assist going to Courtney Heverly (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown).
 
Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) started and played the first 54 minutes making four saves with Emiley Maiorana (Greencastle/Greencastle-Antrim) closing out the final 16 minutes in the cage.
 
Bloomsburg goes to 1-2 with the victory, while Bellarmine falls to 1-3. The Huskies stay in Louisville and play Lindenwood on Sunday at 11 a.m.
