Double Overtime not Enough to Fuel Huskies Past Top Ranked Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University field hockey team lost a 1-0 double overtime conference game to top ranked Shippensburg Saturday at Robb Sports Complex.
 
After a scoreless 70 minutes of regulation, the Raiders scored the game's only goal in the 91st minute when Megan Jett hit the back of the cage.
 
Bloomsburg goalie Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) had eight saves in regulation helping send the game into overtime.  In the first overtime period Shippensburg had two shots on goal which were deflected by Eppley.
 
The Huskies were outshot by Shippensburg 23-7.  The Raiders also held a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Bloomsburg (4-4, 0-1 PSAC) continues conference action on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Mansfield with a 6:30 p.m. start.
