HighlightsBLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team scored 100 points for the first time since February 2013 and moved to a perfect 6-0 on the season by overpowering visiting Penn State Lehigh Valley, 100-84, Monday night at Nelson Field House.

Four Huskies scored in double-figures while 12 players registered points in the victory as Bloomsburg never trailed.
Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) powered the offense with 19 points while
Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) tallied 15 points,
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) registered 14 and
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) chipped in with 12.

Bloomsburg raced to a 14-4 lead over the first four and a half minutes, pulling ahead by double digits for the first time on a 3-pointer by Riles.

The Lions (2-5) closed to within seven (17-10) at the 12:57 mark of the first half on a bucket from Sekou Manngassubuo, but another Huskies three – this time from Mortellite – gave the hosts a double-digit advantage once more.

PSU Lehigh Valley got as close as 28-20 with 8:31 remaining in the first period before the Huskies exploded for a 26-11 run to end the half, taking a 54-31 lead to intermission.

Prislupsky ignited the Huskies crowd early in the second half, coming off the bench and draining five straight 3-pointers as Bloomsburg led by as many as 29 points at 72-43 following another long ball from the freshman guard with 15:39 remaining.

The Lions mounted a late rally, closing to within 10 at 94-84 with 1:48 to play before the Huskies restored order and pulled away in the final moments. A pair of free throws with 48 seconds to go from
Anthony McKie (Blue Bell/Plymouth Whitemarsh) allowed the Huskies to hit the century mark for the first time since a triple overtime win over Millersville on Feb. 6, 2013.

Bloomsburg shot 46.6 percent from the floor, connecting on 34 of 73 shot attempts including 13 3-pointers. The Huskies also dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Lions by a 52-31 margin as both Saintilus and
Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) hauled in eight rebounds apiece to power the Huskies on the glass.

Joe Wiggins led all scorers with 21 points for PSU Lehigh Valley with Taaj Williams adding 20.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday, making the trip to East Stroudsburg as PSAC East play resumes.
