StatsLAST TIME OUT- The Huskies suffered a 67-53 setback at home vs. No. 25 IUP on Dec. 20. Bloomsburg trailed by nine early, but battled back to lead by a point before the Crimson Hawks hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to take a 32-30 lead into halftime. The Huskies led in the opening minutes of the second half, but a 12-0 run by the Hawks midway through the period gave IUP control.
- Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) led the Huskies in scoring with 13 points.
- Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) scored in double figures for the third straight game with 12 points.
- Bloomsburg struggled to 2-of-17 shooting from beyond the arc vs. IUP.
SCOUTING SETON HILLSeton Hill will seek to get back to .500 for the year in Saturday's game after finishing the 2014 portion of the schedule at 5-6 overall including a 2-4 mark in the PSAC. The Griffins have won two of their last three games, however, scoring PSAC wins at home over Kutztown (54-49) and Mansfield (77-69) back-to-back on Dec. 16-17 before dropping a 61-47 decision at Lock Haven on Dec. 20.

Seton Hill ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring at 69.4 ppg and 12th in scoring defense,
surrendering 66.0 ppg. The Griffins are adept at thefts, ranking second in the PSAC with 11.3 per game.

Freshman guard Alexandra Hay stands fourth in the PSAC in assists per game (4.5 apg) and graduate student Chelsea Apke is tied sixth in the league in reboundÂing (9.3 rpg).

Bloomsburg leads 1-0This will mark the Huskies and Griffins first meeting as PSAC opponents. The only prior meeting between the teams came on Nov. 12, 2011 in Shepherdstown, West Va., when Seton Hill was a member of the former West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC). The Huskies scored a 71-60 win that day behind a game-high 20 points from Kelsey Gallagher while Kayla Oxenrider added 15. SCOUTING CALIFORNIA (PA)The Vulcans finished 2014 red hot, winning six straight games to earn a national ranking of No. 23 in the Dec. 16 edition of the USA Today/WBCA Division II Top 25.

Cal U's only loss came out of conference at home vs. Findlay, 74-66, on Nov. 25. The Vulcans began PSAC crossover play with victories over Shippensburg (62-47), Kutztown (74-66) and Mansfield (83-43). Cal earlier scored wins over a pair of nationally ranked teams - a 78-68 win at home over No. 18 West Liberty and an eyebrow-raising 76-48 thumping at then-No. 6 Edinboro on Nov. 22.
Cal ranks fourth in the PSAC in scoring at 75.9 points per game and second in defense, allowing just 58.8 points per contest.

Senior Emma Mahady ranks sixth in the PSAC in scoring at 16.5 ppg while sophomore Miki Glenn is ninth at 15.5 ppg.

Cal U leads 11-8The Huskies have won the past two meetings with the Vulcans, taking a 77-68 victory on Dec. 4, 2011 at Cal U and then won again on the road, 63-61, on Dec. 19, 2012. In the last meeting,
Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) lifted the Huskies to victory with a layup as the clock ticked down to 4.2 seconds – a game that was played at Penn State-Fayette due to a power outage on the California campus. On that day, the Vulcans rallied from a 13-point deficit with under 12 minutes to play, tying the game at 61 with 10 seconds remaining after the Huskies had led since the midway point of the first half. Three current Huskies saw time that day –
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) had three points and three rebounds while
Taylor Kaminski (Philadelphia/Archbishop Wood) and
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) also logged minutes off the bench.

Cal's last win in the series came at Nelson Field House on Dec. 4, 2011, 77-72. Bloomsburg opened up a 26-12 first half lead and held a 54-49 advantage with 11:58 to play before a 12-2 Vulcans run changed the complexion of the game with Cal U rallying to win.

HAPPY NEW YEARThe Huskies turn the calendar to 2015 with their pair of crossover games this weekend, but will not soon forget the success of 2014. Bloomsburg again won the PSAC East and made the deepest run in postseason program history since 2001. In all, the Huskies posted a record of 26-4 during the 2014 calendar year.
