CHEYNEY, Pa. – Redshirt sophomore
Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) poured in a game-high 27 points to power the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to its 11th straight victory, an 89-49 triumph at Cheyney on Thursday evening.
The Huskies led start to finish on the way to improving to 18-3 overall and 9-2 in PSAC East play. Cheyney falls to 3-17, 3-8.
Cheyney had no answer in the post for Sadowski, who scored 17 points before halftime and needed just 24 minutes on the floor to record her 27 for the game. Sadowski made 12 of 15 field goal attempts and also hauled in 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the year.

Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) tallied her first career double-double with 10 points and career-high 10 rebounds while senior
Catherine Noack (Bethlehem/Liberty) netted 16 points. Junior
Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) set up much of the scoring with seven assists in only 15 minutes of action.
Bloomsburg never trailed on Thursday night, scoring the first points of the game on a 3-pointer from Simmons and ran out to a 19-5 lead over the first 5:40. Before the first period was halfway through, the Huskies extended their lead to 20 at 28-8 following a free throw from Sadowski. Cheyney closed the score to 34-15 before Bloomsburg went on an 8-0 run to stretch its edge to 27 points at 42-15 with 3:37 left in the opening half. The Huskies ultimately took a 48-20 lead into intermission.
Things remained much the same after the break as the Huskies lead never shrank under 25 during the second half.
The Huskies shot 47.7 percent from the field (31-of-65) while limiting Cheyney to 29.8 percent (17-57). Bloomsburg was also 18-of-21 from the foul line and dominated the boards by a 52-29 margin.
Kyra Hines-Allen led the way for Cheyney with 15 points.
Bloomsburg returns to action with a short break, hosting Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon at Nelson Field House. GAME NOTES: The game was originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday, but was postponed a day due to the winter storm that rolled through the area this week … Bloomsburg's 11-game winning streak is among the longest in school history, matching the streaks set during the 1987-88 and 1996-97 seasons. Bloomsburg won 12 in a row during the 2010-11 campaign … The 52 rebounds are the second-most all season for the Huskies, behind only the 57 they hauled in at Wilmington on Nov. 16 … Sadowski has five career games of 20+ points, all this year …
