Salvaterra Hired As Assistant Athletic Trainer

BLOOMSBURG--Bloomsburg University athletic director  Mike McFarland announced that George Salvaterra, PhD, ATC, has been hired as an assistant athletic trainer for the Huskies.
 
Salvaterra was previously employed at Penn State from 1985 to 2012 where he served as the head athletic trainer for football. He also served as the Supervisor for Athletic Training Services for the Penn State Athletic Department. Before that, he was an assistant athletic trainer at Lafayette College and Princeton University. He received his BS degree from PSAC sister institution West Chester University, an MS degree from Michigan State University and a PhD from Penn State University.
 
"George brings a wealth of experience, skill, and talent to the Bloomsburg campus that will benefit each of our student-athletes," McFarland said.  "He will enhance every aspect of our athletic experience for Huskie student-athletes in all sports and we are fortunate to welcome him to Bloomsburg and the PSAC."

Salvaterra and his wife Barbara are the parents of three children; Charlie and Travis (students at Penn State) and Kady.
