Gina Monahan (Newtown Square/Marple Newton) each scored three times and senior
Felicia Domenici (Kunkletown/Pleasant Valley) added two goals and an assist to lead the sixth-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 13-1 win over Newberry College of South Carolina. The 13 goals were the most scored by the Huskies in a game since beating Mansfield 12-1 in 2010.

The Huskies wasted little time getting on top in the game with Domenici scoring Bloomsburg's first goal of the season in the seventh minute of action when she delivered from inside of 10 yards.

Bloomsburg's Kowski came back with back-to-back goals in just under a three-minute span with two tap-ins in front of the cage for a 3-0 lead. Monahan then scored the first of her three goals at 21:47 with Samantha Peters getting the assist.

Domenici scored her second goal of the half at 24:46 on
Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, VA/South County)'s crossing pass with Domenici tapping in for a 5-0 edge. The combo of Domenici and Halsted then flipped roles with Halsted scoring on a Domenici pass in the 27th minute before
Geneka Mahan (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) ended the scoring for the period with a goal from an assist by
Eleanor Kirby (Garnet Valley/Garnet Valley).

In the second half
Laura Gerhard (Catasauqua/Catasauqua),
Sally DeLuca (West Pittston/Wyoming Area),
Peyton Shockley (Milford, DE/Milford) along with Monhan and Kowski all scored for the Huskies making it nine players in the scoring column. Newberry's lone goal came in the 57th minute. For the game the Huskies held the edge in shots on goal (30-9), while the Wolves held the edge in penalty corners (9-7).

The Huskies, 1-1, open at home at Steph Pettit Stadium on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Kutztown.
