Video Highlights BLOOMSBURG – Freshman
Camden Boehner (Gettysburg/Gettysburg Area) scored a career high 23 points to power the Huskies offense as one of four players in double figures while the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team raced past Cheyney, 83-56, on Wednesday night at Nelson Field House.
Â
The 18th-ranked Huskies (16-2, 14-1 PSAC) won their ninth straight game in convincing fashion. Bloomsburg never trailed on the night, leading for 38:51 of game time.
Â
Cheyney (3-17, 3-12) kept things close in the early going, tying the score at 6-6 with 15:06 left in the first half following a layup from Kyra Hines-Allen. Bloomsburg then embarked on a 16-0 run which began on a 3-pointer from Boehner.
Â
From there, the Huskies were in control. Cheyney shot just 25.8 percent during the first half and the Huskies went into intermission with a 40-18 advantage.
Â
The Lady Wolves got to within 43-27 following fast break bucket from Kia Whitley-Duncan with 15:58 to play, but it would be as close as the visitors would get.
Â
Morgan Klunk (Felton/York Catholic) stopped the Cheyney uprising with a traditional three-point play to begin a 16-2 sprint from the Huskies, capped by a runner in the lane from reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Week
Marla Simmons (Lebanon/Cedar Crest).

Simmons posted 13 points and seven rebounds while Klunk finished with 11 points.
Taylor Maldonado (Stroudsburg/Allentown Central Catholic) recorded 10 points and
