HTML BOX SCOREBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team used a quick strike offensive onslaught to beat Pitt-Johnstown, 4-0, on Saturday night in a Homecoming game.
The Huskies struck first in the 11
th minute when
Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst/DePaul Catholic) hit an 18-yard blast off a rebound to make it a 1-0 game. For Sanchez it was her sixth goal of the season.
Bloomsburg came right back with a goal a minute late when Steph Tuccio headed a ball into the goal off a corner kick from
Allie Camp (Beavertown/Midd-West) to make it 2-0. For Tuccio it was her first goal of the season.
Three minutes later Sanchez delivered her second goal of the game. After taking a pass from
Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove), Sanchez hit a shot from the left side, about 18-yards out, for a 3-0 advantage.
Bloomsburg tacked on a score in the 80
th minute when
Chrissy Hollan (Laurys Station/Parkland) scored off an
Allie Barber (Pittston Twp/Pittston Area) assist on a corner kick. For Hollan it was her second goal of the season.
Bloomsburg dominated play throughout the rest of the game holding a 37-2 edge in shots and 15-0 in shots on goal. In addition, the Huskies had nine corner kicks to none for UPJ.
Bloomsburg, 8-5-1, 7-5-1 in the PSAC, plays at East Stroudsburg at 4:30 p.m.
