BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Redshirt junior
Tyler Smith (Gettysburg/Gettysburg)'s 26-yard field goal, as time expired Saturday afternoon, lifted the Bloomsburg University football team to a 17-14 victory over visiting Seton Hill in the regular season finale at Redman Stadium. It marked the first meeting between the two schools ias Bloomsburg closed the 2015 campaign with a 7-4 overall record. The Griffins end the season with a 3-8 mark.

The win gave the Huskies their 17th consecutive season of at least seven victories – only Division I's Florida State (31) and Virginia Tech (22), Division II's Northwest Missouri State (19), and Division III's Mount Union (27) have longer streaks in all of college football. Boise State and Oklahoma have streaks equal to Bloomsburg's. Of those six, only Virginia Tech has not extended its streak as of yet this season.

Also during the victory, redshirt senior quarterback
Tim Kelly (Camp Hill/Cedar Cliff) became the school's all-time passing leader after finishing the day completing 19-of-33 passes for 176 yards. He entered the contest needing 90 yards to surpass Eric Miller's (1997-00) previous record of 7,474 career passing yards. His 27-yard pass completion to redshirt senior
Connor Gades (West Chester/Unionville) early in the third quarter gave him the new program mark as he finished his career  with 7,561 career passing yards.

Offense was at a premium as cold temperatures and high winds played a factor in the low-scoring outcome. Bloomsburg managed 359 yards of total offense, but averaged just 4.5 yards per play against a Griffin defense that had allowed more than 500 yards of total offense per game coming into the contest. Meanwhile, Seton Hill mustered just 321 yards of offense and averaged just 4.1 yards per play.

The hosts started the scoring with 7:41 left in the first quarter as Kelly hooked up with redshirt sophomore
Alex Dundore (Reading/Exeter ) from five yards out to cap off a 12-play, 68-yard drive. It was Dundore's only reception of the game and was the first touchdown reception of his collegiate career.

The Griffins managed to tie the contest at 7-7 with 9:10 left in the first half when Khalil Howard muscled his way into the endzone from two yards out. But, Kelly and the Huskies retook the lead on their ensuing possession, driving 75 yards in 13 plays that consumed 5:05 off the clock. The offense converted two third-down opportunities during the drive and redshirt junior
Joe Parsnik (Wilkes-Barre/Coughlin) led the attack with four carries for 38 yards. Kelly plunged in from a yard out to culminate the possession giving Bloomsburg a 14-7 advantage.

Seton Hill had two chances to put more points on the board before halftime but could not cut into the Bloomsburg lead. Eric Brown fumbled at the Bloomsburg five-yard line, forced out by redshirt junior
Andrew Harris (Bethlehem/Whitehall) and recovered by senior
Jeremiah Lowery (Sharon Hill/Academy Park), to nullify one scoring threat. Then, after Bloomsburg went three-and-out, a 53-yard field goal attempt by Jesser Boulnemour, with the wind, at the buzzer hit the crossbar to send both teams to the locker room with Bloomsburg leading 14-7.

The score remained intact until Seton Hill knotted the game at 14-14 with 2:21 left in regulation on a 15-yard pass completion from Dan Pietrangelo to Larry Joshua, finishing off a 13-play, 74-yard drive.

Both teams would exchange three-and-out possessions giving Bloomsburg the ball back with 1:02 left, an opportunity that started at its own 44-yard line. A six-yard rush by Parsnik and back-to-back completions from Kelly to redshirt junior
Nate Hoenl (Whitehall/Whitehall) and junior
Lawrence Elliott Jr. (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) gave the Huskies the ball at the Seton Hill 30-yard line. Moving into a stiff wind, Kelly then scampered for 17 yards to get Bloomsburg into field goal range with time winding down. Three more plays put the Huskies at the eight-yard line and lined up in the middle of the field for Smith's game-winning field goal.

The contest was even throughout with Bloomsburg edging Seton Hill in both rushing yards (183-151) and passing yardage (176-170). The Huskies controlled the ball for 35:11 and were 8-of-18 on third downs while the defense did a great job on Seton Hill's third-down chances, limiting the Griffins to just 5-of-17 opportunities.

Parsnik led the ground game with 20 carries for 101 yards, earning his third career 100-yard effort. His last 100-yard game came in a win at Lock Haven on November 8, 2014. Kelly complemented his 176 yards passin with  seven carries for 50 yards and a touchdown. It marked a season-high in rushing yards for the Husky signal caller. Redshirt junior
Chad Hoffman (Drums/Hazleton) was his favorite target, catching five passes for 54 yards.

Defensively, redshirt senior
Gary Postell (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) was all over the field tying a career-high with 12 tackles (seven solo). He also broke up two passes in the victory. Redshirt senior
Garrett Pope (Northumberland/Shikellamy) posted a career-high eleven stops and had a tackle for a loss.
