MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – A 22-9 run by host Millersville to open the second half gave the Marauders control they would not relinquish in a 73-60 victory over the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon at Pucillo Gymnasium.
 
Though the Huskies only led during the first three minutes of the game, Bloomsburg remained tight with Millersville through the first half, closing to within a 29-24 score at the 4:03 mark after a 3-pointer from 
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton).
 
Millersville (15-13, 11-11 PSAC) scored the final points of the half, however, stretching its edge to 33-25 at the break.
 
Jalen Lester set the tone for the second half in the opening minute, draining a long 3-pointer to begin the game seizing run for the hosts. Millersville would extend its cushion to 23 at 60-37 following work in the lane by Eddie Callender with 8:32 to play.
 
Bloomsburg made one final push, using a 13-3 run to close to within a 63-50 score following a pair of free throws from 
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) just after the final media timeout.
 
The Huskies could never get within single digits again, however, as Millersville maintained control by shooting over 53 percent from the floor during the second half while holding Bloomsburg to a 33 percent clip for the game.
 
Four Bloomsburg players worked into double-figure scoring, led by Saintilus' 15 points to go along with 13 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year. 
Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) finished with 14 points and 
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) had 11. Mortellite netted 10 points with seven rebounds.
 
Lester led all scorers with 19 points for Millersville and Callender registered a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Bloomsburg (9-16, 5-16) will finish the regular season by hosting Lock Haven on Senior Night Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Field House.
