BLOOMSBURG – The senior members of the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team finished out their final home regular season game Wednesday evening by doing what they have done for the majority of the past four years – win.

Bloomsburg celebrated Senior Night with a convincing 87-53 victory over Lock Haven to make the Class of 2015 the winningest in school history. With the win, No. 14 Bloomsburg improves to 23-3 overall on the year and 20-2 in PSAC play and now has the most victories over any four-year period in school history – 99.

Bloomsburg left little doubt in front of the Nelson Field House crowd, racing out to a 21-4 lead in the first seven and a half minutes while catching fire from the floor. The Huskies were nearly unstoppable early on, hitting 17 of their first 24 field goal attempts led largely by their senior class.

The Huskies shot a scorching 66.7 percent (18-of-27) during the first half, taking a 51-22 advantage to halftime behind 16 points from senior Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, NY/Lansing) who shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor.

The roll continued into the second half as the Huskies pulled out to a 40-point lead midway through the second half as Lock Haven (11-15, 10-12) remained ice cold.

Lock Haven, on its way to the conference postseason for the first time since the 1990-91 season, mustered just 29.4 percent shooting on the night (20-of-68) and turned the ball over 19 times. Bloomsburg, meanwhile, controlled every aspect of the game, shooting 54.7 percent (29-of-53) for the night including 6-of-14 from beyond the arc and 23-of-29 at the foul line. The Huskies also had eight blocks, led by four from Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights).

Bloomsburg's seniors powered the attack. Ford matched her season high in scoring, netting a game-high 18 points along with seven rebounds. Simmons scored in double figures for the 12th straight game, finishing with 17 points and four assists with Taylor Maldonado (Stroudsburg/Allentown Central Catholic) posting 10 points. Nikki Tamanosky (Camp Hill/Cumberland Valley) earned her first start of the season and the senior responded with nine points and seven rebounds.

Six-time PSAC East Freshman of the Week Camden Boehner (Gettysburg/Gettysburg Area) also got in on the act, scoring 11 points off the bench.

For Lock Haven, Sami Lane was the bright spot with 15 points.

The Huskies have secured the No. 1 seed from the Eastern Division in the upcoming PSAC Tournament, earning a bye through the first round. Bloomsburg will host a PSAC quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. inside Nelson Field House against the Saturday first round winner between fourth-seeded Kutztown (11-15, 10-2) and Lock Haven.

GAME NOTES: The Huskies honored Ford, Simmons, Maldonado, Tamanosky as well as fellow seniors Maggie Borski (Philadelphia/Nazareth Academy) and manager Denali Althouse prior to the game … This year's senior class surpasses the Classes of 2014 and 1992 which each had 98 wins … Bloomsburg held an opponent to under 60 points for the 18th time this year … Sadowski's four blocks give her 115 for her career and move her into a tie for third place all-time in Huskies history with Jeanne Radcliff (1981-85) … Bloomsburg has won nine straight over Lock Haven … The Huskies improved to 37-2 during the month of February since the 2010-11 season.
