HTML BOX SCOREBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team used a 26-0 run to break open a close game and went on to post a 78-49 win over Lock Haven on Saturday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup.

The Huskies briefly held a 2-0 lead when
Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) scored just 13 seconds into the game. The Bald Eagles though came back with a 7-0 run to go up by five points, 7-2 with under 18 minutes to go in the first half.

Lock Haven ( maintained the cushion over the course of the next 10 minutes and pushed the lead to 19-13 with 8:49 to play in the half on Julian Bond's 3-pointer. After a 3-pointer from the Huskies
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) closed the margin to 19-18, Ra'eese Hunt scored off his own miss to make it 21-18 in favor of the visitors with 4:45 to play in the first half. That would be Lock Haven's final points for the next eight minutes.

Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) started the run for Bloomsburg with a layup followed by another 3-pointer form Mortellite putting the Huskies back on top, 23-21, their first lead since the opening seconds of the game.
Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) hit two-free throws and
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) scored off a miss to make it 27-21. Mortellite then nailed his third 3-pointer of the half with Diggs wrapping up the 14-0 run to end the half with a jumper of his own.

Bloomsburg did not let up to start the second half scoring the first 12 points of the period to make it a 26-0 run. Lock Haven finally snapped its long scoring drought when Bootsie Walker scored on a layup ending the 8:41 stretch without a point.

A Walker free-throw cut the deficit for Lock Haven down to 20 points, 44-24, with 15:31 to play, but that would be as close as the Bald Eagles would get the rest of the way.

The Huskies lead ballooned to as many as 30 points on three occasions in the second half. The first coming when Prislupsky hit a 3-pointer with 8:14 to play that made it a 65-35 game. The last time came
Chandler Junk (Pennsburg/The Perkiomen School) nailed a three-pointer with 58 seconds to play. Lock Haven would hit one free throw in the final 30 seconds to make the final, 78-49.

Bloomsburg showed balanced scoring for the game with
Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) netting 15 points and getting eight rebounds. Mortellite finished with 13 points, while Diggs chipped in with 11 and had four assists.

Defensively the Huskies limited Lock Haven to just 30.5 percent shooting from the floor for the game and forced 18 turnovers.

The Bald Eagles had just one player in double figures with Walker scoring 13 points.
