HUSKIES TO THINKBIG IN OCTOBER
The Bloomsburg University football team, during the entire month of October, will be helping to fight pediatric cancer through the ThinkBIG Pediatric Cancer Fund. The program is entitled "Touchdowns For Pediatric Cancer." Throughout the month, the Bloomsburg football program will be recruiting friends, families, and fans of the Huskies to sign up to donate any amount per touchdown scored. The more fans Bloomsburg recruits - and the more touchdowns the Huskies score in the month of October - the more money raised for ThinkBIG. To learn more about the campaign and to set up a donation, visit http://buhuskies.com/news/2016/9/26/football-to-thinkbig-during-month-of-october.aspx. It's not too late to register.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH
- The Huskies will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they host East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon. Both the Huskies and the Warriors are 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC Eastern Division.

- This will mark the 88th meeting between the two schools in the all-time series with East Stroudsburg holding a slim 44-41-2 advantage over Bloomsburg. Last season, Bloomsburg had its nine-winning streak against the Warriors snapped with a 35-34 loss at East Stroudsburg.

- Bloomsburg has rattled off 17 consecutive winning seasons and 17 consecutive seasons of seven or more victories. Only Division I's Florida State (31) and Virginia Tech (23), Division II's Northwest Missouri State (19), and Division III's Mount Union (27) have longer streaks in all of college football. Boise State and Oklahoma have streaks equal to that of Bloomsburg's.

- Bloomsburg's Lawrence Elliott, Jr. and East Stroudsburg's Robert Healy are the players to watch on Saturday. Elliott, Jr. has rushed for 14 touchdowns this season which second in the PSAC to Healy's 16. Elliott, Jr. needs 233 rushing yards to crack Bloomsburg's all-time top ten list and needs 373 all-purpose yards to become the fourth player in school history with 5,000. Healy, meanwhile, became ESU's all-time leader in all-purpose yards last Saturday and now has 5,731 for his career.

- Bloomsburg has hit a rough patch offensively as it has averaged only 272.5 yards during the two-game skid. The Warriors, however, rank 15th out of 16 teams in the PSAC in total defense as they allow 475.6 yards per game this season.

FROM THE ARCHIVES (by BU Archivist, Bob Dunkelberger)
- The last-minute touchdown on Saturday preserved Bloomsburg's school record streak of scoring in 158 consecutive games since a shutout by Shippensburg in 2003. While a second school record of scoring ten or more points in 78 straight games was broken, the team has still scored 13 or more points in 57 consecutive road games, dating back to the beginning of the 2007 season. The seven points versus the Golden Rams was the fewest the Huskies have scored against them since recording only a safety in a 34-2 loss at West Chester in 1992. It equaled the lowest total ever against the Rams in Redman Stadium, matched three times previously in 1975, 1977, and 1979. The 20-point margin of defeat was the largest in a home game versus West Chester since a 39-14 loss in 1987.

- Bloomsburg had its only score of the game on Saturday in the fourth quarter. The last time the team did that was the safety at West Chester in 1992. The last time the single score came in the fourth quarter of a home game led to a 7-7 tie with Kutztown in 1986. The fourth quarter score on Saturday was the 18th time the Huskies have managed just a single scoring play in the final period to avoid a shut-out since 1960. Last Saturday's was by far the closest to the end of the game (16 seconds). The previous closest was a touchdown at home in 1978 against Ithaca with 3:56 left to go in a 25-7 loss.

- Saturday's game ended in score of 27-7. It was the eighth time in school history a game has ended with that score, the Huskies now having a record in those games of 4-4. The four wins came in 1950 and 1951 with Wilkes and in 1970 and 1977 against Cheyney. The three previous losses were all on the road, versus the Wyoming Seminary in 1929, West Chester in 1956, and Millersville in 1979.

- The game with East Stroudsburg is the 88th in the series between the two schools, dating back to the first meeting in 1907 when Bloomsburg lost 5-4 at home. The Huskies' record in the first 87 games is 41-44-2, with a mark of 21-22-1 at home, 20-20-1 on the road, and 0-2 at a neutral site (Lackawanna County Stadium in Moosic). Since 1994, Bloomsburg has a record of 19-4 versus East Stroudsburg.

BY THE NUMBERS
8 - Quarterback sacks by Chris Gary (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) which ranks second in the PSAC and is tenth in the country. Gary is on pace for 13 sacks. Larry Webster holds the school record with 13.5 in 12 games during the 2012 season
14 - Rushing touchdowns by Lawrence Elliott, Jr. He is second in the PSAC and fourth in the country in that category
17 - Consecutive winning seasons
17 - Consecutive seasons of seven wins or more
18 - Players that have made their first start in a Bloomsburg uniform this season (Michael Allen (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), Alex Annan (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg), Jarell Boyd-Ross (Pittsburgh, Pa./Dickinson (N.J.)), TreVon Brown (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford), Chris Dunford (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale), Nate Hoenl (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Vaughn Jones (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township), Dexter Jordan (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser), Jake Klinger (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia), Travis Krall (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area), Tony Le (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Ryan Neher (Richboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood), Jesse Osborne (Medford, N.J./Shawnee), Chris Palubinsky (Ringtown, Pa./Shenandoah Valley), Travon Pugh (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West), Scott Rucci (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby), Eric Schwartz (York, Pa./Central York), Osman Toure (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy Park))
30 - The Huskies have held the ball for fewer than 30 minutes in five of the first seven games this season. Entering the year, Bloomsburg had only 10 games of under 30 minutes in the first three seasons under head coach Paul Darragh (36 games)
35 - Games under head coach Paul Darragh (43 total) that the Huskies' defense has recorded at least one sack
55.8% - Percentage of Bloomsburg's total offense that has been through the air this season during the first five games. The 2009 season marks the last time a BU team had more passing yards than rushing yards in a single season (1,796-1,767)
60 - Bloomsburg is 60-14 when rushing for more than 100 yards in a game since 2009
72 - Points short of scoring 20,000 points since the football program began in 1892 (1,056 games). The 5,000-point mark was reached in 1952 in game 414; the 10,000th point in 1987 in game 723; and the 15,000th in 2004 in game 909
112 - Bloomsburg is 112-3 all-time when scoring at least 40 points in a game. Bloomsburg has recorded a program-record of seven games with at least 40 points four times (2005, 2007, 2012, and 2013). However, the Huskies have reached the 40-point plateau only three times in the last 18 contests
113 - Consecutive games of scoring at least one touchdown
153 - Bloomsburg victories since the start of the 2000 season - fifth-most in Division II during the stretch
158 - Consecutive games of scoring at least one point
173 - Bloomsburg victories with Paul Darragh on the staff (173-55, .759). Darragh joined the Huskies' staff in 1997 as the defensive coordinator
200 - Quarterback Chris Palubinsky (Ringtown, Pa./Shenandoah Valley) has thrown for at least 200 yards in four of the last six games (244 vs Clarion, 224 at Gannon, 236 vs Millersville, 267 at Kutztown). Only 14 times in 43 games under head coach Paul Darragh has a Bloomsburg quarterback has thrown for more than 200 yards in a game
233 - Rushing yards needed by Lawrence Elliott Jr. (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor) to crack the school's top ten list in career yardage. Tom Martin (1985-87) is tenth with 2,476 career rushing yards
322 - Rushing yards needed by Joe Parsnik (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) to reach 2,000 for his career
373 - All-purpose yards needed by Lawrence Elliott Jr. (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor) to become the fourth player in school history to record 5,000 in a career
1,000 - Bloomsburg has had at least one 1,000-yard rusher in six straight seasons, 12 of the last 13, and in 14 of the last 16 years
1,157 - Team rushing yards needed by the Huskies to reach 50,000 since the start of the 1999 season (when the consecutive winning streak and consecutive streak of seven wins or more began)
1998 - The last time a Bloomsburg team has given up more total yards than it has gained in a season (4,069-4,045). This season, the Huskies have allowed 2,677 total yards and have amassed 2,558.

UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will be back on the road next Saturday, October 29, when it makes the short trip to Lock Haven University to square off against the Bald Eagles. Kickoff from Hubert Jack Stadium is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The Huskies lead the all-time series, 47-38-3, and have won five straight meetings between the two schools including a 31-28 double-overtime thriller at Redman Stadium last season.
