EAST STROUDSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team used an 8-0 run over the final 2:17 of regulation to send the game to overtime, but fell, 79-69, to East Stroudsburg University on Saturday in the first round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs.

Alyssa Mack (Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic) led the Huskies with 17 points on 7-13 shooting, including a fadeaway jumper with three seconds left in regulation that tied the game at 67 apiece. Morgan Klunk (Felton/York Catholic) posted 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) tallied 15 points nine rebounds and four blocks in her final collegiate game.

The teams traded misses and turnovers over the first six minutes, as Bloomsburg led only 6-4, at the media timeout. Julia Gantz (Havertown/Archbishop John Carroll) hit consecutive three-pointers to push the Huskies' lead to 13-6 late in the first quarter. Bloomsburg would push the lead to as many as nine before ESU went on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 15-12 late in the first. Mack's layup with less than five seconds remaining gave the Huskies a 19-14 advantage after the first quarter.

ESU opened up the second quarter on a 7-0 run thanks to five quick points from Allison Howard and two free throws from Imani Brown. The duo would combine to score all but one point for the Warriors in the quarter, as they outscored Bloomsburg 20-11 in the second period to take a 34-30 lead heading into halftime.

The teams traded baskets throughout the majority of the third quarter until ESU went on a 6-0 run in a minute and a half to bring their lead to 49-40. Gantz would knock down two free throws to cut the deficit to seven, but Tyeca Reviere's three-pointer with nine seconds left gave ESU a 52-42 advantage going into the final quarter of regulation.

The Huskies kept battling in the fourth and brought the Warriors' lead down to just three points with six minutes to play, thanks to several layups from Sadowski and two buckets from Mack. East Stroudsburg pushed its' lead back up to eight, 67-59, with just over two minutes to play, but Bloomsburg would not go away. After a pair of free throws from Klunk, Mack hit a jumper with 46 seconds left to make it a 67-63 ballgame. Alex Ross (Lancaster/Manheim Township) would hit a jumper less than 10 seconds later after an offensive foul by Howard of ESU. The Warriors would turn the ball over yet again, this time by Reviere with only 13 seconds to play. Upon an entry pass to Sadowski being swatted out of bounds with a little over five seconds away, Klunk found Mack who hit a fall away jumper over the outstretched arms of her defender to tie the contest. The freshman scored nine of her 17 points in the fourth to propel the Huskies into overtime.

In the extra period Bloomsburg could not find the bottom of the net, hitting just one of six shots while committing several key turnovers that sealed the win for the Warriors. Ross' layup tied the contest at 69 with under four minutes to play but after Reviere put in a layup to make it 71-69, the Huskies would fail to score again.

The Huskies once again struggled on the glass, and were outrebounded, 46-36, including 21-12 on the offensive glass. Bloomsburg shot 41.7% from the field, including 60.8% in the second half, and 38.5% from three-point range for the game.

The Huskies will graduate just one senior this season in Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights), who moved into 14th place on Bloomsburg's all-time scoring list during the game.

"I am very fortunate to have coached an incredible player and an even better person in Adreana Sadowski (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights)," Bloomsburg University head coach Bill Cleary stated. "She epitomizes, in every aspect, what a Bloomsburg University women's basketball player is. She has taken this program to heights that no one ever thought we could obtain and she will be forever remembered for that."

Bloomsburg ends the year at 13-14, while East Stroudsburg advances and is now 15-12.
