GAME TWO BOXBLOOMSBURG—
Emily Mayhew (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) hit two home runs and drove in a combined four runs to lead the Bloomsburg University softball team to a sweep of its doubleheader with Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday by scores of 7-2 and 8-2 at
Jan Hutchinson Field. The Huskies have now won 13 straight games on the year.

In game one pitcher
Mallory Tomaschik (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) tossed a two-hitter for the Huskies striking out nine and walking just one. The Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the second when
Kalynn Wheeland (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) singled and Tomaschik doubled putting runners at second and third. After a pop out,
Natalie Quinlan (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) singled scoring Wheeland making it 1-0. After another infield pop out,
Valerie Carcasses (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) singled in Tomaschik for a 2-0 lead.

It stayed 2-0 until the fifth inning when Bloomsburg struck for three runs. With two outs the Huskies put two runners on base for
Erica Keen (Gordonville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) who blasted a three-run homer, her fifth round tripper of the season, to make it 5-0.

The Lady Cats got two runs back in the top of the sixth, before the Huskies closed out the scoring with a two-run homer from Mayhew in the bottom of the sixth.

Tomaschik got UPJ in order in the top of the seventh to earn her eighth win of the year against no losses.

In game two, the Huskies struck for six runs in the top of the first inning on seven hits. Pitcher
Sarah Bortner (Glenville, Pa./South Western) drove in two runs with a single, while Tomaschik, Quinlan and WInkelman had RBI singles and
Maggie Hall (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) a sacrifice fly in the inning.

Pitt-Johnstown scored twice in the top of the third inning on four hits and stranding two runners. Bloomsburg got both runs back in the bottom of the third. With one out Carcasses singled. After a strikeout for out number two, Mayhew homered to right center making it 8-2.

Bortner allowed just three hits over the final four innings and finished with 10 strikeouts, while allowing just one walk. With the win she goes to 12-3 on the season.

Mayhew finished game two 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and for the doubleheader went a combined 5-8.

Bloomsburg is now 27-4, 8-0 in the PSAC Central. The Huskies have won 13 straight and 15 of their last 16. UPJ is now 6-15, 3-5 in the PSAC Central. Bloomsburg plays at the University of the Sciences on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
