BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team fell to Shippensburg in overtime on Tuesday afternoon. The Huskies ended their season with a record of 4-11 overall and 2-10 in the PSAC. The Raiders improved to 5-11 overall, 2-10 in the PSAC and also concluded their season.

In the first half, the teams played evenly. Shippensburg found the back of the net first with 28:38 left to play in the first half. Bloomsburg then responded with back-to-back unassisted goals, first by junior
Nikki Fisher (Warminster, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy ) and then by sophomore
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) with 23:22 left in the first half.

Shippensburg answered with a goal before Bloomsburg scored two more to take a 4-2 lead. With 16:08 left in the first half, Bloomsburg sophomore
Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) scored an unassisted goal to make the score, 3-2. The Huskies scored again with 13:48 on the clock with Turner scoring off of an assist from freshman
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown). Â Twelve seconds later, the Raiders scored to cut the lead to 4-3.

With 9:46 left to play in the first half, junior
Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) scored off of an assist from freshman
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) to expand Bloomsburg's lead, 5-3. Jaskuta then scored off a free position shot with 8:06 on the clock to extend the lead to three. Shippensburg scored their fourth goal of the game before Bloomsburg freshman
Jordynn Kurcoba (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) scored on a free position shot with 3:14 left in the half to give the Huskies the lead at half, 7-4. It was Kurcoba's first collegiate goal.

Shippensburg started off the scoring in the second half with a goal less than two minutes in. The Huskies responded with four consecutive goals to make the score 11-5. Jaskuta scored the first goal off of an assist from Nocito and then, with 24:01 left to play, Fisher scored on a free position shot. Shea increased the lead to 10-5 with a goal assisted by Turner. The fourth goal was scored two minutes later by Kurcoba which was assisted by Turner.

The Raiders began to cut into the Huskies' lead with three consecutive goals, trimming the lead to 11-8. But, with 14:32 left to play, Bloomsburg senior
Stephanie Hostrander (Painted Post, N.Y./CPP West) scored off of an assist from
Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) to extend the advantage to 12-8. Shippensburg scored four unanswered goals to force overtime with the game tied, 12-12.

In the first 13 seconds of overtime, Shippensburg's Amanda Frank beat Bloomsburg junior goalkeeper,
Abbey Burnett (Frederick, Md./Walkersville), to end the contest.

Burnett posted 10 saves in goal while the Huskies had five players score two goals apiece. Turner led the way with two goals and two assists for Bloomsburg.
