FIVE THINGS TO WATCH
- The PSAC opens divisional play on Saturday with the Huskies and the Wolves coming off of losses against PSAC West teams last Saturday. Bloomsburg dropped a 30-27 overtime decision at Gannon while Cheyney suffered a 55-0 loss, at home, against IUP.

- Bloomsburg and Cheyney have met 56 times in the all-time series with the Huskies holding a 46-9-1 advantage. Bloomsburg has won 26 straight meetings between the two schools and has won 16 straight in Cheyney. The Huskies last lost to Cheyney in 1989 by a 31-28 score in Bloomsburg. The Huskies' last loss in Cheyney came in 1982 by the score of 24-20.

- Bloomsburg has rattled off 17 consecutive winning seasons and 17 consecutive seasons of seven or more victories. Only Division I's Florida State (31) and Virginia Tech (23), Division II's Northwest Missouri State (19), and Division III's Mount Union (27) have longer streaks in all of college football. Boise State and Oklahoma have streaks equal to that of Bloomsburg's.

- Senior running back Lawrence Elliott, Jr. is on milestone watch Saturday afternoon. He needs 49 rushing yards for to reach 2,000 rushing yards for his career. He has started the season with three straight 100-yard games and has already rushed for seven touchdowns (second in the PSAC). He is third in the PSAC with 352 rushing yards on the season.

- Cheyney snapped a 43-game losing streak with a 21-20 victory at Lincoln in the season-opener on September 1. Since then, however, the Wolves are 0-2 and have been outscored 134-3 against perennial powers from the PSAC West, California and IUP.

FROM THE ARCHIVES (by BU Archivist, Bob Dunkelberger)
- The overtime game on Saturday was Bloomsburg's seventh since the NCAA went to an OT system in 1996, but the fourth in the past three years, and third in the last eight games. The team's record in the OT contests is 5-2, (4-1 at home, 1-1 on the road). Both of the defeats have come against Gannon, the first by a score of 10-7 in the last game of 2009. The only previous overtime game on the road was a 31-24 win at East Stroudsburg in 2005.

- Even with the loss at Gannon, the Huskies have continued to play almost as well in road contests over the years as they have at home. They have 17 consecutive seasons of above-.500 records in road games and have had only one losing season in the past 23 years, after four straight sub-.500 seasons from 1989 to 1992. Their record in road contests since 1999 is 76-27 - a winning percentage of .738.

- Bloomsburg's 30-27 loss on Saturday was only the second time in 1,053 games in school history that a game ended with that score, and the first defeat. The only previous 30-27 game was a win at home over West Chester in 2006.

- In the PSAC East, the Huskies have finished no lower than third place in the division for a record 23 consecutive seasons and for 32 of the last 33 dating back to 1983. The one lower-division record during that time was a sixth-place finish in 1992. The only other teams to record 10 consecutive years of third place or higher in the PSAC East since its formation in 1960 was West Chester for 17 years from 1960 to 1976 and East Stroudsburg had 11-year runs twice: 1961 to 1971 and 1973 to 1983.

- Since 1993, Bloomsburg has won 123 games versus PSAC East opponents for a winning percentage of .852. As a comparison, the other four schools with at least 50 wins over that time period are West Chester with 106 victories and a .731 winning percentage, East Stroudsburg 81 and .559; Kutztown 73 and .503; and Millersville 65 and .452.

- Saturday's game with Cheyney is the 57th in the series between the two schools, dating back to the first meeting in 1960 - a 39-0 home win for the Huskies. Bloomsburg has a 46-9-1 record in the series (23-5 at home and 23-4-1 on the road) and has won 26 straight overall. The last Husky loss at Cheyney was by a score of 24-20 in 1982 (16 straight wins at Cheyney).  Both streaks represent school records against a single opponent. Although impressive, they represent the reality of the lack of success the Cheyney program has had in recent years. In 1989, the Wolves had a 3-3 record in the PSAC East, defeating Bloomsburg, Kutztown, and Mansfield. Over the past 26 seasons since 1990, they have played 162 games against PSAC East opponents, winning just four of those contests: versus Kutztown in 1993, Mansfield in 1998 and 2006, and Millersville in 2010.
