HUSKIES TO THINKBIG IN OCTOBER
The Bloomsburg University football team, during the entire month of October, will be helping to fight pediatric cancer through the ThinkBIG Pediatric Cancer Fund. The program is entitled "Touchdowns For Pediatric Cancer." Throughout the month, the Bloomsburg football program will be recruiting friends, families, and fans of the Huskies to sign up to donate any amount per touchdown scored. The more fans Bloomsburg recruits - and the more touchdowns the Huskies score in the month of October - the more money raised for ThinkBIG. To learn more about the campaign and to set up a donation, visit http://buhuskies.com/news/2016/9/26/football-to-thinkbig-during-month-of-october.aspx

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH
- The Huskies will look to start 2-0 in the PSAC Eastern Division for the ninth consecutive season when it hosts Millersville at Redman Stadium. Bloomsburg has won at least its first two divisional games since the 2007 season when it lost the opener at West Chester (44-28).

- Bloomsburg and Millersville have met 78 times in the all-time series with the Huskies holding a 43-30-5 advantage. However, Bloomsburg has taken over the series edge thanks to a 16-game winning streak it currently has over the Marauders. The Huskies have not lost to Millersville since a 31-21 setback in Bloomsburg during the 1999 season (October 10).

- Bloomsburg has rattled off 17 consecutive winning seasons and 17 consecutive seasons of seven or more victories. Only Division I's Florida State (31) and Virginia Tech (23), Division II's Northwest Missouri State (19), and Division III's Mount Union (27) have longer streaks in all of college football. Boise State and Oklahoma have streaks equal to that of Bloomsburg's.

- Senior running back Lawrence Elliott, Jr. eclipsed the 2,000-yard plateau for his career in last week's win at Cheyney. He also rushed for three touchdowns for the third time this season. He has 10 rushing touchdowns this season which leads the PSAC and is second in the country (Humboldt State's Ja'Quan Gardner has 11).

- Millersville enters with a 1-3 overall record but has lost three straight since a 28-7 season-opening victory over Pace. The Marauders are last in the PSAC in rushing yards, averaging 53.3 yards per game on the ground. They have also given up a league-high 25 sacks through four games this season.

FROM THE ARCHIVES (by BU Archivist, Bob Dunkelberger)
- With the 54 points on Saturday and 63 scored last year, Bloomsburg has totaled 117 points against Cheyney in the past two games. The highest number of points the Huskies have ever scored against the Wolves in back-to-back games is 126 (58 in 1996 and 68 in 1997). The most against any team in two straight games is 130 versus Mansfield (56 in 1995 and 74 in 1996). This was only the third time in school history Bloomsburg has scored 54 points in a game. The other two were versus Cheyney in 1998 and Lock Haven in 2004.

- The Huskies racked up 380 yards of offense in scoring 54 points on the Wolves. That ties the least number of yards in total offense Bloomsburg has ever had in a game while scoring 50 or more points.  In 1998, Bloomsburg scored 50 points on East Stroudsburg with just 380 total yards, thanks mainly to six turnovers by the Warriors and three interception returns for a touchdown by the Huskies. Cheyney turned the ball over four times on Saturday which led the 20 Bloomsburg points.

- Bloomsburg has now won 27 consecutive games versus Cheyney.  In a demonstration that these games are won on defense as well as offense, the 14 points allowed was tied for the third-highest surrendered during that time, which occurred in four different games. The only times the Wolves scored more were 21 points in 2003 and 17 in 1990. The 1990 contest was also the last time before Saturday the Huskies were held scoreless in the first quarter of a game with Cheyney.

- Paul Darragh now has a record of 31-9 in his first 40 games as head coach since 2013 - the second-best 40-game start in school history behind Robert Redman's 36-4 (1947-51). The only other coaches to win more than 21 in their first 40 games were Danny Hale with a record of 28-11-1 (1993-96), Pete Adrian at 24-15-1 (1986-89), and Albert Aldinger with a 23-15-2 record (1894-1901).

- The upcoming game with Millersville is the 79th in the series between the two schools, dating back to the first meeting in 1916 when Bloomsburg won 67-0.  That is the most points and largest margin of victory in the series for Bloomsburg.  Millersville's high in both categories is its 72-0 win in 1981.  The Huskies' record in the first 78 games is 43-30-5, with a mark of 25-11-4 at home and 18-19-1 on the road.  The Huskies have beaten the Marauders 16 consecutive times, scoring more than 40 points in 12 of those games.

BY THE NUMBERS
10 - Rushing touchdowns through four games by senior Lawrence Elliott, Jr. He ranks first in the PSAC and second in the country in that category. He is on pace for 28 rushing touchdowns this season (school record is 32 by Jamar Brittingham in 2005)
13 - Players that have made their first start in a Bloomsburg uniform through the first four games of the year (Michael Allen (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), Vaughn Jones (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township), Dexter Jordan (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser), Jake Klinger (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia), Travis Krall (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area), Tony Le (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Ryan Neher (Richboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood), Jesse Osborne (Medford, N.J./Shawnee), Chris Palubinsky (Ringtown, Pa./Shenandoah Valley), Travon Pugh (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West), Scott Rucci (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby), Eric Schwartz (York, Pa./Central York), Osman Toure (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy Park))
17 - Consecutive winning seasons
17 - Consecutive seasons of seven wins or more
33 - Games under head coach Paul Darragh (40 total) that the Huskies' defense has recorded at least one sack
76 - Consecutive games of scoring at least 10 points in a game
110 - Consecutive games of scoring at least one touchdown
152 - Bloomsburg victories since the start of the 2000 season - fifth-most in Division II during the stretch
155 - Consecutive games of scoring at least one point
172 - Bloomsburg victories with Paul Darragh on the staff (172-53, .764). Darragh joined the Huskies' staff in 1997 as the defensive coordinator
200 - Redshirt junior quarterback Chris Palubinsky (Ringtown, Pa./Shenandoah Valley) threw for at least 200 yards in back-to-back games (244 vs Clarion, 224 at Gannon). It now marks only 12 times in 40 games under head coach Paul Darragh that a Bloomsburg quarterback has thrown for more than 200 yards in a game
388 - Rushing yards needed by redshirt senior Joe Parsnik (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) to reach 2,000 for his career
461 - Rushing yards needed by senior Lawrence Elliott Jr. (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor) to crack the school's top ten list in career yardage. Tom Martin (1985-87) is tenth with 2,476 career rushing yards
1,000 - Bloomsburg has had at least one 1,000-yard rusher in six straight seasons, 12 of the last 13, and in 14 of the last 16 years
1,474 - Team rushing yards needed by the Huskies to reach 50,000 since the start of the 1999 season (when the consecutive winning streak and consecutive streak of seven wins or more began)

UP NEXT
