WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University field hockey team dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament quarterfinal at West Chester 1-0 on Tuesday (Oct. 31).

The fourth-seeded Golden Rams broke through on the scoreboard at 24:21 of the first half when Caitlyn Kelly fired a shot through a crowd that found the back of the cage. The goal was her second of the season. West Chester took a 1-0 lead to the break, along with a 4-2 edge in shots. Penalty corners were three-apiece in the first half.
The second half was back-and-forth for the majority of the time, until Bloomsburg got a late chance in the form of a West Chester yellow card. The card gave the Huskies a five-minute 11-on-10 advantage with seven minutes left. However, the Huskies were unable to capitalize on the advantage.
The fifth-seeded Huskies totaled four shots in the contest, coming from
Tali Wehner (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) (2),
Geneka Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area), and Tesa Hoffman Bloomsburg also totaled five penalty corners in the game. Dana Sheply (7-7) made seven saves in the loss.
The loss concludes the 2017 field hockey season.
